Submission Guidelines

What:

The IPF Photo Prize 2017 is the sixth iteration of the annual photographic print exhibition, competition and sale presented by Independent Photography Festival (IPF).

Who:

The Photo Prize is open to all photographers working in any discipline. Photographs may be submitted by photographers from any country in the world. The submission is FREE !

How:

  • Each entrant may submit up to two (2) photographic files
  • Entries must be in .JPG file format (saved as 8bit RGB) and sized to 11″ x 14″ 300dpi
  1. Sign up for the free account: hub.theprintspace.co.uk
  2. Upload your image files named: Name_Surname
  3. Select image(s) you wish to submit and click on “Print Pricing” on the footer menu.
  4. Set print size by entering 11”x 14” and price your image at £60. Select C-type and Matt paper. Click save to confirm (repeat for each image if necessary).
  5. Share images with photoprize@i-p-f.org
  6. In Project Name put your Full Name. In the message box put your phone number in case we need to contact you.
  7. Tick Download, Print & Sell permissions.
  • Entries must be in .JPG file format (saved as 8bit RGB) and sized to 11″ x 14″ 300dpi
  • If you do not wish for your images to be on sale please tick Print & Download only.
  • Images will be printed at 11″ x 14″ on Fuji Crystal Archive Matt.
  • Selected images will be displayed as part of the IPF Photo Prize 2017 exhibition at House of Vans.
  • The files submitted must be of a photographic nature (i.e., no scans of paintings/drawings)
  • All exhibited submissions will be printed full bleed.
  • Once submissions have been received and selected, images will be printed by our sponsor The Printspace in London https://www.theprintspace.co.uk/

When:

  • Submissions for the IPF 2016 Photo Prize are open from 27th March until midnight (GMT) 24th April 2017. Any files submitted after this time will not be accepted.
  • The IPF Photo Prize 2017 will open the IPF 2017 program, on Thursday 4th May, 6–9pm. The exhibition will be open to the public till the 26th of May. Please note, daily exhibition is open Thursday-Friday 4-10pm , Saturday 10-8pm and Sunday 12-6 pm.
  • Winners of the Judges Panel 1st & 2nd Place and People’s Choice Award will be announced online, Monday 29th of May.
  • Voting in the People’s Choice Award will take place from 4th to 27th May at the IPF Photo Prize 2016 venue: House of Vans, Arches, 228-232 Station Approach Rd, Lambeth, London SE1 8SW

Where:

  • The IPF Photo Prize 2017 will be exhibited at House of Vans, Arches, 228-232 Station Approach Rd, Lambeth, London SE1 8SW
  • Voting in the People’s Choice Award will take place in person from 4th of May till the 26th May at House of Vans.

How much:

  • All entrants have the option to opt-in to print sales using thehub service.
  • All images are printed in 11″ x 14″ and will be sold for £60 (minus the print cost and vat £22.56) and the split is 70% (approx £26) artist and 30% ( approx £11) IPF
  • Each entrant is permitted to submit a maximum of two images.

After the Photo Prize:

On exhibition close (26th May 2017) all printed images will be destroyed.
